DVD Release for Educational/Instructional use - May 22, 2009

"Whether married, single, or religious, we are all beneficiaries of this film's artistry and the personal reflections it evokes."

- Prof. David R. Foster, Director - Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership

Outreach Screening Series launched for Fall 2009 - Spring 2010

After five years of production, The Calling is completed and ready for wide distribution. A major component of our distribution strategy is the implementation of a national series of screenings at colleges, universities, and film festivals.

Our DVD will be available for Educational/Organization distribution by May 2009. It will contain our PBS/TV (56:40) version (with an English/Spanish subtitle option); an extended Director's Cut Feature version (77:30); twenty minutes of additional sequences; a photo gallery; a Public Performace Use license; and Director's commentaries. A comprehensive study-guide is being developed that will enhance the educational value of the film.

We are also in the process of scheduling screening dates for the Fall 2009/Spring 2010 semesters. Seton Hall University, Our Lady of the Holy Cross College, Fairfield University, and Fordham Uniniversity have already hosted successful events. These featured a multi-platform approach that included panel discussions; Q&A with the filmmakers and characters of the film; and were attended by diverse audiences that included students, faculty, clergy, seminarians, and community members. We would welcome an opportunity to share this model with your institution.

"So often religious life is either seen as an aberration or elevated to seemingly unreachable plateaus of sainthood; but The Calling presents a vocation in a very real way. It's a beautiful piece of work that will magnify the beauty of a way of life that is little understood."
